If your workplace doesn't block USB ports on your PC, then during down time, you can use your work place internet and PC to transfer files to an external hard drive like you've been wanting to do for the past couple of years. I recently bought a 2TB drive and have been downloading images and files from my UCLA drive on it so that I can have a physical copy. As of right now, UCLA still provides free unlimited storage on Google Drive but I have no idea how long it'll last so it makes me feel better to have a copy of everything on hand. It's nice to be able to download large amounts of files and just have it run in the background as I work. Business wifi/lan connections truly are a blessing.
I've been sorting photos and have come across some goldmines that have made me really nostalgic. I'm glad I have these photos and am sad I don't have more! If Moore's Law continues to be valid, there's no use in not storing all this data. I picked up the 2TB drive for less than $70 and I'm sure it'll only get cheaper. I'm looking forward to browsing this hard drive when I'm older to remind myself of college and high school. My memory already fails me so this will be a nice concrete reminder.
